Message From The Animal Welfare League
The Lawrence County Animal Welfare League would like to thank the numerous people who supported us during this holiday season and the donors who continue to support us year round.
The League could not continue its work in Lawrence county without the citizen's support. We would also like to issue a special thanks to Crockett Hospital employees for their Christmas fundraising and a special thanks to Shara Kennedy for organizing the event.
In 2011, the League rescued 579 animals in Lawrence county. All of these animals recieved necessary medical care, social rehabilitation, and were spayed and neutered. The League also assisted 286 citizens in the spay/neuter of their animals. This assistance was recieved by low income residents of the county as well as those special citizens who take in strays and give them loving homes.
The Lawrence County Animal Welfare League fosters animals in their homes, with approximately 100 animals in foster care at all times. These animals come from abusive situations, the side of the road, and owners who can no longer keep them due to job and home loss. The League is always in need of donations such as food, fencing, dog houses, crates, toys, leashes, and any pet supplies. Monetary donations are always needed to cover vet bills and food expenses. Any expenses not covered by donations are paid for by League volunteers.
The League can be reached by calling 615-430-9501 or emailing lcawl@hotmail.com. We can also be found on Facebook at Animal Welfare League. Pictured is a before and after shot of one of our many rescues.
Sincerely
Lawrence County Animal Welfare League
