What Scares Me

   What does Connecticut, North Dakota, Missouri, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Ohio and Kansas have in common?  They all have senators refusing to run again.

   Now, I’m not smart as David Lightman who writes for large newspaper. In fact, I’n not smart enough to keep from getting scared.

   Why are these prestigious officials suddenly disenchanted with their jobs?  According to Mr. Lightman the entire congress feels they are being watched too much.  The senators rail at camera phones streaming their every move to the internet and cable news networks – they complain about being watched – they really complain about blogs.

   Gone are the times when our lawmakers could operate in private – times when sweetheart deals could be struck without the voters knowing – enough already – you can literally get the picture.

   So what scares me about all these elected officials quitting such high profile jobs?  I’m frightened I might be correct in believing they’re less than honest.  But what really scares me is this may be the tip of a very ugly iceberg.
