Evelyn Beard Terry, 69, a most beloved wife, mother, Grammer and Mur Mur, passed away peacefully, May 22, 2016 with her family by her side in Lawrenceburg, TN.

She was born November 30, 1946, to Milton and Clayton Beard. Evelyn married David Terry on December 18, 1965. Together they raised sons Chandler and Parker.

Evelyn received a Masters of Science in Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She passionately taught elementary school for 30+ years and retired from Virginia Run Elementary in Fairfax County, VA. Evelyn was an active member of Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church and served God through worship, committee membership and her labor. She loved gardening, execising and entertaining at the barn. Above all she was devoted to her family; husband, children and grandchildren.

Evelyn courageously battled stage 4 pancreatic cancer for four months.

Billy Ray Smith

Billy Ray Smith, 80, of Killen, Alabama died Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was a faithful member of Brrokhill Church of Christ. Mr. Smith ws a proud member of Carpenters Local #109 (now #1209) for 50 plus years. Ray learned how to work hard at an early age and used that lesson to better his life and most important to him, his family's life. He was a master carpenter, using his hands and trade to make a living. He loved going to work, making lifelong friends of all trades.

After retirement, he looked forward to planting his garden. Many knew him as "Watermelon Man", ray loved all his family; siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He took great delight picking, joking and playing with them and gave them all nicknames that stuck with them for life. He enjoyed spending time with his church family. Lifelong friend, B.H. Parker, was a special part of his life. They both enjoyed hunting and gardening together and just being good neighbors.

Linda Gail Tease Garth, age 59, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, May 05, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.

Linda was born on April 6, 1957, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Marshall and Patricia Ruth Pinder Tease. She was a caring mother to Jonathan and life partner to Rick who remembers her as the best friend he ever had. Linda held a B. S. degree in Behavioral Science from Martin Methodist and worked as a peer counselor support. Previous to that she worked for many years in assembly at the Murray Ohio plant in Lawrenceburg.

Her sisters fondly recall that she had a wicked sense of humor. She was an avid reader and lover of education. She loved Jeopardy and never missed an episode. She also enjoyed watching the Game of Thrones series, as well as movies in her spare time. Her latest hobby was making jewelry. She loved animals, especially cats.

Linda is survived by her life partner: Rick Garth of Lawrenceburg; son: Jonathan Garth of Lawrenceburg; siblings: Juanita (Kenny) Hanson, Patricia Sudduth, Steven Tease and Debra (Ted) Bosheers; three nieces: Jessica Sudduth, Ashley Bosheers and Mariann Tease; and several cousins. She was preceded i n death by her parents: Marshall Tease and Patricia Ruth Pinder Tease; and brother: Marshall Tease, Jr.

The family will celebrate Linda’s life with a memorial service at a later date.

Edna Ruth Wallace, left this world quietly Wednesday, May 4, 2016 after an extended illness. She had her 78th birthday on April 3, 2016. Sh was a longtime member of Atlas Church of Christ.

It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. Charles “Charlie” Brown, age 71 of Ardmore. Mr. Brown passed away Tuesday April 12, 2016 at his residence.

A native of Oak Ridge, TN, he was raised in Lawrence County. Mr. Brown was the son of the late Beatrice and Millard Brown. He was retired from The Tennessee Department of Transportation, was a bus driver, a Mason and was of the Methodist faith.

Christine enjoyed collecting recipes, watching cooking shows and spending time with her loved ones.

Vernon Hugh Pettus, age 85, passed away March 31, 2016. He was a native of Florence, AL and was retired from Ford Motor Company. Mr. Pettus was the chairman of the Ford UAS Local 255 for the past 28 years and president of the local VA. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving as a Navy Seal, in underwater demolition, and as part of the 20th Airborne Division. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Tina Pettus; parents: John and Georgia Pettus; brothers: Britten, Herlon, and Eugene Pettus; and sister: Francis Adkins.

Oley Franklin Vermillion Jr.

Oley Franklin Vermillion Jr., 83 of Florence, Alabama passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016. A memorial service will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church, in St. Florian, at a later date to be announced. Burial will be at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN.

Oley was born in Winchester, KY., Predeceased by his father, Oley F. Vermillion Sr., mother Nancy Vermillion, sisters, Marie Brandon, Nancy Morgan and brother, Edward F. Vermillion Sr. Oley lived in Florence, AL., sisnce 2005 and had previously been a long time resident of Satellite Beach, FL. He was a graduate of Rollins College, Winter Park FL. Oley sereved in the USAF as a SSGT tail-gunner during the Korean War, and after in the 329th Bombardment Squadron. Oely retired as Chief of Safety, with Lockheed Martin at Cape Canaveral AFS, FL.

He was a parishioner of St. Michaels Catholic Church, St. Florian AL. Oley was well travelled, having worked in Europe, Africa and Middle East. He travelled to South Africa, Central America and South America for leisure. He spoke five languages. Oley was a licensed pilot and flight instructor for private and commercial aircraft. His hobbie were building experimental aircraft, sailing, gardening, and fishing.

Funeral services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 1pm David Byrd will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
