ALL LAWRENCE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2010 FOR THE OBSERVANCE OF THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY. A meeting of the Economic Development Board of Lawrence County, and the Executive Committee of the Joint Economic & Community Development Board of Lawrence County is scheduled for Thursday, September 23rd, 2010 at 4:00 PM. The meeting will convene on the second floor of the Lawrence County Administrative Center in the meeting room across from the County Executive's office. The Lawrence County Democratic Party will meet this Thursday at 6:00 at the Courthouse to plan upcoming events and efforts with regards to the 70th District state house race and the campaign for Governor. All local Democrats who are interested in getting involved are encouraged to attend. Lawrence County Government will have the Swearing In of all newly elected County Officials, County Commission, and employees on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 9:00 am in the Circuit Courtroom, on the Second Floor of the Lawrence County Courthouse. The County Offices will be closed until 1:oo pm on this day. The Loretto Senior Citizens welcomes new members.,Anyone can become a member reguardless of age.,Members under age fifty-five dues are $10.00 yearly.,Members under age fifty-five are not eligible for meals.,Yearly seniors dues are $2.00 and seniors over eighty pay no dues.,The center has a meal site and serves meals to seniors for $1.25.,These meals are served or delivered Monday thru Friday.,Christy Springer at the center can give you information on the,meals. Meals are only served to senior citizens. You do not have to ,be a member of Senior Citizens to get these meals.
