Would-Be Burglars Scared Away By Juveniles Inside Residence
Lawrenceburg Now
Authorities report that some juveniles inside a Lawrenceburg home likely scared away burglars who were attempting to break in last week.
The incident was investigated by officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department on Wednesday. The Nixon Avenue residents reported that they were returning from nearby Walgreens when they saw two persons fleeing from the rear of their home. They told officers that they got into a parked vehicle and drove away.
The residents discovered that someone had used their own axe to pry open the back door. Paint on the axe matched that on the door. Nothing appeared to be missing, and the residents said the intruders were likely scared away by some juveniles inside the house.
Damages were assessed at $200. Investigation into the crime is currently on-going through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
