Deputies Able To Identify Metal Thieves
Local law enforcement officers have been able to identify a couple as the individuals who took metal from a local property without the consent of the owner.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department on Friday show that between ten and twelve rollers and two metal gates off of a fork lift, had been stolen from a property located at 171 Self Road.
The victim told deputies that he suspected that the culprit would have taken the items to Grimes Recycling to sell them.
The reporting officer indicates that he checked with the recycling business and learned that a local man and woman had sold those exact items to them.
Although the rollers had already been scrapped, deputies informed the victim that he could pick up his gates at the business.
Investigation into the theft is currently on-going.
