Boy Scout Troop #265 Holding A Flag Retirement Ceremony
Local Boy Scout Troop #265 will having a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Thursday Nov. 11th.
It will be at Mimosa Cemetary on East Gaines - there is an official plot designated for flag retirement on the south side of the cemetary.
There is a flagpole at the site and there has been several flag retirement ceremonies.
They would like to have a drive to collect worn, used flags that need to be properly destroyed. There is an official way to dispose of worn flags.
The respect for our country's flag is one of the foundations of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. There will be donation boxes at the following locations - Kroger, Liberty Drug, and Lawrenceburg City Hall.
Local citizens will be able to drop worn, used flags at any of these spots between Thursday Nov. 4th and Wednesday Nov. 10th.
The retirement ceremony will be held right after the Veteran's Day Parade on Thursday Nov. 11th.
