Resident Arrested For Failing To Register As A Sex Offender
Lawrenceburg Now
A man who had recently moved to Lawrenceburg was taken into custody by law enforcement officers last week after they determined that he had not registered as a sex offender, as required by state law.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that twenty-six year old Christopher Bradley Pulver, a resident of 405 Oak Street, was arrested on the failure to register as a sex offender charge shortly before midnight Thursday.
Officers report that they had been called to investigate an individual possibly prowling about a vehicle on Beckham Avenue. The complainant told officers that she had noticed a white male wearing a black shirt looking inside a neighbor’s van.
Officers were able to make contact with the suspect, later identified as Pulver. Pulver allegedly told them that while he had been beside the van, he had not been attempting to burglarize it. He told them that he had been “hiding from people he thought might be after him.”
While investigating the incident, officers learned that Pulver had been residing in Lawrence County for the past four months, but that he had not registered with the local reporting agency as required under the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Sex Offender Registry guidelines.
Pulver told officers that he had believed he was no longer required to register. He told them that he had received a letter from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation informing him of such. Officers noted, however, that he was unable to produce such a letter.
Pulver was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center for processing. He was scheduled an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on November 5, 2015.
