Probation Visit Results In Discovery Of Firearm, Narcotics

Firearms and narcotics charges were issued against a local pair in early October after a visit from a probation officer revealed drugs and a firearm inside of a Highway 43 North home.

State of Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole officers, along with narcotics investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, visited a home located at 4301 Highway 43 North, Ethridge.

They report that resident Jonathan Bishop Laws, age 34, was at home at that time along with Sara Elizabeth Brewer, 26, of 195 West College Street in Summertown.

Authorities report that during a search of the premises investigators found two plastic bags containing methamphetamine, baggies for packaging, and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Both Laws and Brewer were placed under arrest on charges of possession of Schedule II narcotics (meth) for the purpose of resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Laws and Brewer were transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where they were jailed under a bond of $44,000 apiece.
