Public Assistance Sought In Identifying Woman Passing Counterfeit Checks

Police officials are seeking public assistance in an attempt to identify a woman who has recently passed counterfeit checks at Rite Aid in Lawrenceburg, as well as both the Summertown and Mt. Pleasant Super Rama stores.

In all instances, officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department say that the female, described as having dark hair and a tattoo on her left wrist, cashed checks that proved to be counterfeit.

Although she presented a Tennessee driver’s license as proof of identification, she does not appear to be the person to whom it was issued.

The woman is a passenger in a four-door, dark colored car. A parking lot video shows that when entering the Super Rama Summertown lot, the driver parked behind a milk truck, “In what looks like an obvious attempt to stay away from the building.”

Anyone who has information regarding the woman’s identity is urged to contact Lt. Nathan Neese at the sheriff’s department at 931-762-1608, extension 110.
