Attempted Murder Charges Issued Against Lawrenceburg Man

Authorities reported Wednesday afternoon that a local man had been arrested on charges of attempted first degree murder after entering a Fall River Road residence and assaulting a man with a wrench.

When Lawrenceburg Police officers answered the call they found that the victim, twenty-eight year old Jason Williams, had sustained head injuries and that the suspect had fled the scene.

Investigation led them to believe that Jason Alan Curtis, 31, of Lawrenceburg had entered the residence and hit Williams in the head with a wrench. At the time information was released Williams had been transported to the local hospital for medical attention and his condition was unknown.

A search for Curtis was quickly launched. He was located a short time later at a home on Park Street. When they arrived, officers report that he fled inside the home. Shortly afterward they found him hiding in a closet.

Curtis was booked through the Lawrence County Detention Center on charges of attempted first degree murder and especially aggravated burglary. He was held without bond.

Curtis was scheduled an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on October 3, 2014.
