Dead Cat Found In Mailbox
A Summertown man reported to authorities that he opened his mailbox Thursday to find a dead cat inside.
The victim, age 18, reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies that he had heard a vehicle the previous night and looked out to see a dark color Chevrolet S-10 truck driving away.
The victim told officers that while the truck had been sitting in front of his house he thought he had heard his mailbox door open. He said that he checked the mailbox and found a white plastic bag inside. Inside the bag he found a dead cat infested with maggots.
The victim reported that he had only moved into the home the day of the incident.
The deputy noted that it appeared the cat had been dead for several days
