Good Samaritan Finds Herself In A Violent Situation
A local woman who was trying to help a stranger Monday inadvertently placed herself in the middle of a violent situation.
The victim, age 28, told Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies that she had picked up a woman on Deller Street who had asked for a ride to North Brace Road in Summertown. When they pulled into the driveway, she said a woman ran toward the car yelling insults at her passenger, then struck her windshield with a black metal bar or pipe.
The victim said the woman yelled for them to leave. She said that when she stopped at a stop sign on Dailey Street her passenger exited her vehicle and began to walk toward the Maury County line.
The victim said she did not wish to seek prosecution for fear of retaliation. The matter currently remains under investigation.
