Tuesday Crime Report

Vandalism

An Iron City resident reported to deputies that someone had attempted to break into his home while he was at the creek Sunday. He said that he had been away for three hours, returning to find someone had tried to pry open his door. The door sustained a dent and a scratch. Damages were estimated at $10.

Vandalism

A Summertown man told deputies Sunday that his 2003 Toyota Camry had sustained some $4,000 in damage at the hands of vandals. He said the culprit had scratched the paint on the car, which had been parked in his driveway while he was away for the weekend.

Vandalism

Deputies were asked to investigate damages to a mailbox at a Highway 43 home on Friday. The victim said that he had been away from home for about an hour, returning to find his mailbox lying on the ground. He estimated damages to be $50.

Theft

On Friday deputies were sent to a Shotwell Road home where the resident reported that light bars had been stolen off of his 2003 Razor. He said that the theft could have occurred in the early hours Thursday when he was awakened by his dog's barking. Loss was said to be $600.
