Safes Abandoned In West Lawrence
Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies initiated an investigation on Saturday morning when two safes were found to have been abandoned along a county roadway.
The reporting officer reports that he was dispatched to the vicinity of Laurel Hill and Chief Creek Roads shortly before 7:00 a.m. He arrived to find two small safes lying on the ground.
The deputy indicates that both safes had sustained damaged. He said that it looked as if someone had struck them with a sledge hammer.
The value of the safes was estimated to be $600.
