Officials Report Phone Line Shot Two
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were called upon to generate a report when workers discovered a telephone line in an area west of Lawrenceburg had been severed.
According to reports filed through the sheriff’s department, deputies were summoned to 2445 Waynesboro Highway around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday to confer with an employee of the local AT&T office.
The employee reported that one of the company’s fiber optic cables had been shot in two; apparently by men who had been dove hunting nearby.
Replacement of the 500 foot section of line is estimated to cost the company $3,500.
