Authorities Looking Into Burglary Incidents At Local Businesses
Local law enforcement officials are looking into similar burglary incidents that were reported in past days by owners of area businesses.
The first report came in around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday through the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Officers were dispatched to Harold Orton Used Cars where they spoke with Harold Orton. He reported someone had burglarized/vandalized a total of five vehicles at his business. Two of the vehicles, he reported, belonged to the business, while the remaining three belonged to customers.
Taken from the vehicles were car stereos, hand tools, and various medications. Damages were reported to the dash area of some of the vehicles.
On Wednesday officers answered a similar call to 504 Holtsford Street. There, Robert Brown Gobble, Sr., reported he had noticed several items damaged and stolen since August 25.
Welding leads were reported missing, along with a set of four Michelin tires. Items were also removed from several vehicles at the business, including a 1998 Mack tuck, 1983 flatbed, and a 2000 Freightliner. Stereos were removed from the vehicles along with air conditioner and air brake controls.
Loss and damages there were estimated at $3,350.00.
Anyone who has information regarding either crime is urged to contact the police department at 762-2276.
