Friend Who Borrowed Car Reports It Was Stolen

   Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies were
dispatched to a Summertown home on Tuesday to investigate after a resident's car as allegedly stolen.

   Reports filed through the department show that deputies were dispatched to a home on Daley Street.

The resident reported that she had allowed a friend to borrow her 2001 Honda Accord the previous day to make a trip to Murfreesboro. She said that she agreed under the condition that her friend text her once per hour. She told deputies that she heard from her each hour up until 3:00 p.m.

   At 5:30, the victim said that the woman, "Showed up at her front door covered in sweat." She told the victim that she had stopped to give a man she knew a ride. She said they drove to the railroad trestle on Walker Road where he grabbed her, pulled her from the car, threw her purse at her, then drove away.

   Reports show that on that same evening the car, which was valued at $1,500, was found abandoned at the end of Walker Road.
