Wednesday Crime Report

Theft

A Greenbriar Road resident reported to deputies Saturday that a package had been removed from her mailbox. Reports show that the mail carrier had placed the package, which contained books and a peppermint roller, in her mailbox on July 30, but the resident never received them. Loss was said to be $25.

Theft

A stick welder and a gallon of weedeater gas were reported stolen from a shop on North Brace Road. The owner reported that he had arrived to find the shop doors open. Loss was placed at $155.

Vandalism

A Cole Circle resident told deputies Sunday that several of his items had sustained damage. He reported that one barbeque grill had been knocked over while the cover had been removed from a second. Also, the sensor on a motion security light on his garage had been broken. Damages were assessed at $100.

Vandalism

A Lawrenceburg man reported to officers early Tuesday that he had left his 1996 Ford Explorer for repair at a Third Street business. He said that he had returned to find that the rear passenger window had been busted, resulting in around $400 in damages.

Burglary

A resident of South Locust Avenue reported Monday that someone had broken into his outbuilding and stole $7,500 worth of tools.

Theft

Police officers were called to a business on East Gaines Street last week. The owner reported that he had placed a small refrigerator on the back porch to defrost overnight. He returned the following morning to find it had been stolen. It had a value of approximately $70.

Theft

A local woman reported to officers last week that she had inadvertently left her wallet in a shopping cart after loading her purchases into her vehicle at Dollar Tree. She said she pulled onto the highway but quickly returned only to find that it had been taken. She said the wallet contained various cards and her checkbook.

Vandlism

Residents of Big Springs Fork stopped by the sheriff's department Monday to report that her 1999 Mercedes had been vandalized the previous night. A scratch spanned the length of the passenger's side, resulting in an approximate $1,500 worth of damage.
