Man Seriously Injured When Beaten By A Group Outside His Home

A Weakley Creek Road resident who was seriously injured on Saturday told officials that he was attacked by a group of men outside his home.

According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department the victim, age 22, indicated that the incident first began when he refused to purchase beer for a nineteen year old Lawrenceburg man. He told officers that the man was angry when he left his home.

The victim said that at around 1:00 a.m. the man returned in a truck with two Rebel flags hanging on each side. A second truck, he said, bore an American flag. He said the trucks stopped and 10-15 males exited and approached him.

He told officers that he turned toward the nineteen year old, who "sucker punched" him in the head. He said that he remembered little about the assault after that point.

Officers report that the victim sustained a cut to one eyelid, swelling around the other eye, broken bones, a laceration on his right had referred to as a "boxer break," and his bottom lip was busted.

Officers attempted to locate the teen at his last known address but were unable to do so. Investigation in the matter is on-going at the current time. Charges were expected to be forthcoming.
