Agents Arrest Seven In Meth Investigations

   Recent investigations into the manufacture of methamphetamine have led local authorities to arrest seven county residents.

   Drug agents with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report that one of the investigations resulted in the arrests of Brittany Lowery, 23, of 13 Sanders Lane, Leoma, Danny Keith Staggs, 47, of 496 Old Jackson Highway, and Karl Eugene Luna, 25, and Renee Loradell Smith, 43, both of 30 Augustin Lane, Loretto.

  

All four were incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center on charges that include promotion of the manufacture of meth, initiation of a process to manufacture meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

   Three individuals were arrested during a separate investigation. Jason Ray Carter, 41, of Iron City, Derrick Bronson Balentine, 28, of McIntyre Road, St. Joseph, and Chasity Allison Bromley, 34, of 236 South Old Military Road, St. Joseph, are each charged with initiation of a process to manufacture meth, promotion of the manufacture of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Carter is additionally charged with being a fugitive of justice, while Bromley is charged with second offense DUI.

   All of the suspects have been scheduled appearances in Lawrence County General Sessions Court in coming weeks.
