Merchant Reports Customer Changed Prices On Tags Prior To Purchase

A Lawrenceburg merchant filed a complaint with local police officers Tuesday, indicating that a customer had apparently altered the prices shown on price tags prior to making some purchases, resulting in a monetary loss.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department took the complaint at The Spotted Cow on Waterloo Street Tuesday afternoon. The complainant reported that prices had been changed on two items.

She said one item had listed for $70, but the price tag had been altered to read $30. The price on the tag of the second item, listed at $80, had been changed to $30 as well.

The complainant told officers that she had already contacted the customer and informed her she would be responsible for either returning the items or paying the remainder of the list price.
