Thursday Crime Report

Vandalism

A resident of South Locust Avenue reported to police officers that someone had broken a glass storm window on his home, at his son’s bedroom. Reports indicate that officers conducted a search of the immediate area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Damages were estimated to be $100.

Theft

Officers made their way to a Simpson Street home Sunday where the resident had discovered that his push mower, valued at $135, was missing. He told officers that the mower had been stolen at around 5:00 p.m. the previous Thursday.

Theft

Officers were called to a Sixth Street home on Saturday where the resident reported that someone had run over her mailbox, resulting in $50 worth of damage. A neighbor reported seeing a driver run up on the curb, knock the mailbox off of the post, then drive away, heading toward Second Avenue.

Aggravated burglary

A resident of South Circle requested police assistance last week after finding that her home had been targeted by burglars. She reported that, while she was away, someone had entered her home, stealing a gold wedding band with diamond and a gold and emerald, diamond wrap band. She said that she had left the rings in a shot glass on the kitchen windowsill. She said she was uncertain how the burglar gained access to her home, but that one door had been left unsecured. Loss is said to be $700.

Burglary/theft

Officers were called to an Ada Avenue home regarding a recent burglary. The victim reported that someone had illegally entered her 1993 Lexus, stealing pieces of antique jewelry, clothing, and some roper boots with a combined value of $3,950.

Theft

A Lawrenceburg woman reported Monday that the license plate had been stolen off of her 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier during the previous night. Loss was $49.
