Resident Finds Unfamiliar Bicycle In Truck Bed

An investigation was opened Saturday after a resident found that someone had placed a bicycle that did not belong to him, in his truck bed.

The Admiral Circle resident reported to Lawrenceburg Police officers that the driver's door on the 1997 Nissan truck would not lock from the outside, so his son had been entering and exiting through a back glass, which did not lock.

The complainant said that Saturday morning he found that the passenger side door had been unlocked and the back glass left open. He found a purple Schwinn bicycle in the truck bed. He said nothing appeared to be missing.

The complainant said that recently he had noticed that prowlers had made attempts to gain entry to his house through some back windows.

Since officers were unable to identify the owner of the bicycle it was taken to the city's impound lot.
