Arrestee Found Hiding In Attic

Deputies attempting to serve a warrant against a Summertown man Saturday, report that they found him hiding in the attic space.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies went to 215 South Military Avenue to serve a violation of probation warrant to twenty-five year old David Lynn Fiscus.

Deputies report that it took around ten minutes to get someone to answer the door. The man denied that Fiscus was inside but invited deputies to look around. Several other persons inside told them that they didn’t know where Fiscus was.

As one deputy searched a closet he noticed that a hole had been cut in the ceiling leading to the attic space. He said there were fresh foot marks on the wall, the metal bar was bent, and one of the clothes hangers was moving.

Deputies found Fiscus lying in the attic and called for the fire department to help retrieve him.

As a result of the incident Fiscus was arrested on the original violation of probation charge as well as one count of evading arrest and one count of resisting arrest.

Fiscus’ girlfriend, Brittany Nicole Brassfield was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and giving false information to police officers.

Both are scheduled to answer the charges in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on September 9.
