Free Fireworks Show
The Lawrenceburg Beautification Board has announced that their 8th Annual Libertyfest Celebration will culminate in what has become the most anticipated and well-attended event in Lawrenceburg all year - a spectacular fireworks display which is the biggest and best in this region and which is also free to the public.
The fireworks show will once again be presented by master fireworks technicians from Melrose Pyrotechnics, a Kentucky Company which presents shows all over the United States, and will be a major part of Libertyfest at LCHS at the Wildcats Football Stadium off of Weakley Creek & Springer Road in Lawrenceburg. Plenty of parking is available.
The fireworks show will be presented shortly after dusk.
Anne Morrow, Event Coordinator, gives the details, "The event at LCHS will begin at 6:00pm with lots of delicious food and other vendors set up around the concession stand and the field house behind the bleachers. The annual baseball game will also begin at 6:00pm. A standard of this event has always been games for the children and this year will be no exception.
Lots of our vendors this year are ballteams trying to make money to go to tournaments, so please come early and spend some money with them."
"We hope everyone will be there no later than 7:00pm, when the Opening Ceremonies will begin. Little Miss Kynsea Giles will sing the National Anthem and there will be a 21 Gun Salute performed by the VFW Post 1618 Honor Guard."
"The Beaus" will also be there - Patrick Curtis and Mickey Kuhn who both portrayed Little Beau Wilkes in Gone With The Wind. They will be stationed somewhere around the stage area for those who wish to meet them."
"We are very happy to announce that the WLX Country Cafe Band will be performing once again for us, leading us up to the fireworks show. This magnificent band, which is made up of local musicians, have been working very hard to come up with a wonderful musical tribute to the Great State of Georgia which I'm sure everyone will enjoy."
"We will also be introducing this year's Liberty Festival Queen and her Court and the winners of the Jr. Auxilliary's Miss Liberty Pageants.
The winner of the "Tara Playhouse" auction will also be announced."
"Everyone is invited to come celebrate our country's birthday right here in our own community on Saturday, July 4th!!
We think it will be the biggest and best celebration we've ever had!!
