Assault Reported In Market Parking Lot

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were called to the Emergency Room at the local hospital Monday evening to investigate when a woman sought medical treatment after having been assaulted in the parking lot of a local market.

The forty year old victim told officers that the assault had occurred at around 9:30 p.m. She said that she had exited her vehicle at the market and was approached by an acquaintance.

The victim said the acquaintance, age 19, began to tell her that she was an "unfit mother." She said that they began to yell at one another and that the woman bumped into her, then began to strike her repeatedly in the back of the head.

She said when the assault ceased she got back into the vehicle with her mother and drove to the hospital.

The victim explained that she has brain tumors and "isn't supposed to have any hard contact with anything."

The victim's mother witnessed the assault. Officers report that she confirmed her daughter's statement.

Investigation in the case is continuing at this time.
