Individuals Questioned In Disappearance Of Five Points Man

Two individuals have been detained in connection with the disappearance of a Five Points man.

A report was filed with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on Monday by the sister of Robert Oscar Davis, age 46, of 46 Holloway Road, Five Points.

The sister told deputies that Davis had been depressed and that she had been unable to make contact with him.

Other family members and his girlfriend reported they had not heard from him, either. She said that she had checked with his employer, but that at that point he had missed two days of work.

Davis’ brother-in-law was the last to see him. He told deputies that Davis had stopped by his home in Alabama around 2:00 a.m. Saturday. He reported that Davis only stayed for a brief period of time, and said nothing about where he might be going.

Sheriff’s department officials report they received a call on Tuesday, May 7, regarding an abandoned truck on Wisdom Road in West Point. A registration check revealed that the red, 2001 Chevrolet belonged to Davis.

No charges have been filed in the case with the individuals in question.

Authorities urge anyone who has information regarding Davis’ whereabouts to contact the department at 931-762-3626 or the Criminal Investigation Division at 931-762-1608.
