Assault Reported At Waterloo Road Home

A report of a man being assaulted on Waterloo Road Tuesday brought law enforcement officers out to investigate.

The thirty-three year old victim told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he had come to the home to pick up his ex-wife for a visit with their children.

After he arrived, the victim said the male assailant came out of the house yelling at him. He told deputies that the man attempted to kick him in the groin, then struck his leg. He said that he attempted to leave, but that the assailant shoved him to the ground and punched his head, causing a large knot.

Reports show that a second victim, a thirty-five year old female, attempted to intervene at that point, but that the assailant shoved her away.

Both victims got into their car to leave. They report that the man followed them, reached inside the vehicle, and struck the male victim in the face and head several more times.

At the time reports were filed warrants were being sought in connection with the incident.
