LCHS Shooting Team Attends The ATA/AIM Trap Shoot

The LCHS Shooting Team attended the ATA/AIM Trap Shoot on Saturday, April 6th, at Big Springs Clay Target Complex, located in Christiana, Tennessee.  AIM is the Official youth program of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. 

Members of AIM enjoy the thrill of shooting registered competition on a level playing field as an individual and as a team.

The purpose of AIM is to provide a safe and positive experience with firearms and registered trapshooting for youth, elementary school through college age.

AIM encourages good sportsmanship and personal responsibility through competition while establishing the foundation to make trapshooting a lifelong avocation. 

In ATA/AIM events, each team is broken down into squads.  Each squad consist of 5 athletes and are placed in divisions (based on age as of the prior September 1st).  Divisions are broken down as (1) Pre-Sub – Age 11 & under (2) Sub-Junior – Age 12-14 (3) Junior – Age 15-18 (4) Senior – Age 19-23.  Each Division is also placed into a Class based on skill averages.

LCHS #1 Junior squad placed 4th out of 11 teams, shooting a combined score of 406 out of 500 targets shot. Squad athletes: Bobby Benson (78/100), Austin Moore (91), Jackson Woods (71), Ben Threet (82), Ethan Wallace (84)

The Sub-Junior Squad placed 2nd out of 6 teams, shooting 372/500.  Squad athletes: Rhett Yates (66/100), Connor Walters (85), Logan Cowheard (76), Kyle Smith (67), Jordan Haney (78).

Austin Moore and Chase Kobeck were award a special patch for shooting 25 straight targets without a miss.  Ethan Wallace also received his 25 Straight patch from the previous shoot on March 16th.
