Lawrenceburg Teen Wins Scholarships at Statewide Competition
Abany Dugger, 14, took home top honors when she was crowned Miss Tennessee Junior National 
Teenager 2014 at Stewarts Creek High School on March 29th in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Representatives from across the state came to compete in the TN National Teenager Scholarship Pageant to showcase their achievements and accolades and win over $10,000 in scholarship money and prizes.
Miss Dugger is a Lawrenceburg resident and the daughter of Tucker & Andrea S. Bryant and Dustin Dugger.
An 8th grade honor roll student at E.O. Coffman Middle School, Abany is actively involved as a Cheerleader, and has helped organize fund-raising events for the Animal Welfare League of Lawrence County and the annual “Pink Out” benefitting Breast Cancer Awareness.
Her pageant participation was sponsored by several community businesses, including Fleeman Carriers, Van Vickle Insurance Services, Lawn 365, Barbara T. Smith of ReMax Pros, Community Bank of Lawrence County and The Animal League of Lawrence County.
When asked what she will do with this opportunity, Abany responded, “I’d like to encourage other girls like me, promoting self-confidence in academic achievements, speaking abilities and community involvement. I believe the sky is the limit!”
Miss Dugger’s prize package includes a $10,000 scholarship to Eckerd College, a $1,000 scholarship to the University of Charleston, invitations to New York City and the 2015 Miss America pageant, a John Robert Powers School of Modeling scholarship, and much more.
She also took home three State Special Awards: Top Model, Miss Congeniality and Miss Ambassador.
Abany will be representing the state of Tennessee at the National Competition in Nashville, TN from July 22-28, 2014.
