Authorities Investigate Vehicle Vandalisms

Local law enforcement officials were called upon to investigate two separate instances of vehicle vandalism in Lawrence County Monday.

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that deputies were first dispatched to a home on Busby Road in Loretto, just after midnight. There a male victim, age 22, reported that approximately $120 worth of damage had been done to his Dodge truck.

The female victim reported that her ex-boyfriend had stopped by around three hours prior in order to pick up some of his belongings. She said that he made threats against the male victim while there.

She said that as he walked to his vehicle to leave he wielded a stick as if to strike the victim’s truck. She said he then got into his vehicle and left.

At around 11:40 p.m. the couple reported hearing a loud noise outside. The female victim said that when she looked out she saw her ex-boyfriend running away from the truck. They went outside and found that a passenger side window had been smashed.

Deputies were called to a home on Jarel Lane in Summertown at around 8:00 a.m. after the resident discovered that his 2000 Ford Mustang had been vandalized.

The victim told deputies that the car had been undamaged Sunday night. He said he went out that morning to find that someone had cut two of his tires. Damages were estimated to total $200.
