Structure Fire Sunday On First Avenue

Firefighters battled a blaze at a home on First Avenue in Lawrenceburg Sunday, but were unable to save the majority of the structure.

Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Jay Moore indicated that the house at 312 First Avenue was “heavily involved” when crews arrived on the scene. He reported, “A defensive attack was made until the fire could be brought under control.”

Despite their efforts the home sustained extensive damage.

Moore said that all of the occupants made it out of the home safely and no one was injured. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation at the current time.

Moore said that the owner had no insurance and the Red Cross was called upon to assist the residents. He also noted that New Prospect Fire Department was called in on mutual aid to answer other calls.
