Woman Beaten With Motorcycle Chain
A Lawrenceburg woman sought medical treatment late last week after she was reportedly beaten with a motorcycle chain.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the Rapid Care clinic Friday morning after the woman sought medical treatment there. She indicated she had received initial treatment at the emergency room at Crockett Hospital, but had been advised by officials there to have a follow-up appointment.
The victim, age 29, told deputies that she had sustained her injuries while involved in a domestic altercation earlier at her Prosser Road home that involved a twenty-three-year-old male acquaintance. During the argument, she reports that he struck her repeatedly with a motorcycle chain.
Deputies noted the woman had sustained numerous abrasions to her hands and chest. Reports also indicate she sustained a head injury during the attack that caused her to suffer a seizure.
Investigation into the matter has been turned over for further inspection by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Divison.
