Several Stolen Mailboxes Recovered On Prosser Road

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that a number of stolen mailboxes were recovered on Prosser Road on Sunday.

A deputy was called to the Prosser Road/Shoally Branch Circle intersection shortly before 8:00 a.m.  The complainant reported finding seven mailboxes lying along the roadside.

The deputy reports that while he was on-scene, one of the mailbox owners stopped to identify his property. He was able to identify one of the mailboxes as belonging to his neighbor, as well.

The deputy awaited arrival of a vehicle in which to transport the remaining mailboxes. While doing so he reports that he checked the area for evidence, but was unable to locate any.

Once the mailboxes had been transported to the sheriff’s department the deputy was able to obtain owner information and make contact with some of the victims.

At the time the report was filed all but two of the victims had reclaimed their property.
