Theft Leaves Victim With Significant Loss
A local resident experienced significant monetary loss last week after his property was targeted by thieves.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that deputies were dispatched to the Hudson Road home at around 12:20 Wednesday. The resident reported that items had been stolen from his a shop on his farm.
The victim reported that around 100 rusty, metal fence posts had been stolen along with some parts of a grain drill, approximately 60 disc blades, axels from a grain cart, a bolt on an extension for a sub moisture plow, fence post driver, and two front tractor weights for an International tractor. Altogether, losses totaled nearly $7,000.
Reports indicate that deputies checked with local scrap metal businesses, but were unable to gain any additional information at that time.
