Qualifiers Announced For May 6 County Primary
A list of individuals who met Thursday’s qualifying deadline, allowing them to participate in the May 6, 2014 County Primary has been released through the Office of the Lawrence County Election Commission.
Qualifiers are as follows:
Democrat Primary
County Executive: Anne N. Brown, J. Mack Chandler
County Clerk: Chuck Kizer
Trustee: Kiley Weathers
Circuit Court Clerk: Debbie Riddle
Sheriff: Jimmy Brown, James E. Flatt
Republican Primary
County Executive: Roland S. Childers, Jerry W. Dryden, T.R. Williams
Circuit Court Clerk: Joanna Chandler
Road Superintendent: Donnie Joe Brown
Independent Candidates
County Executive: Joy Bunt, Troy Edwin Kelsey, Sr.
Register of Deeds: Teresa Dunkin
Sheriff: Pete Shrader, Kenny Taylor
*Note - Names of Independent candidates will appear on the August 7, 2014 ballot, however they have the same qualifying deadline as the primary candidates.

*Note - The names of Independent candidates will appear on the August 7, 2014 General Election ballot. Dubois and Cooper are the only names that will appear on May 7, 2014 Primary ballot and will face the Independents in August.
The Independent candidates for these positions must qualify at the same time as primary candidates.
