Work Underway to Develop Industrial Park Entrance

Partnerships between a number of local agencies are being formed in order to construct an eye-catching entrance at Lawrence County’s North Industrial Park.

The Tennessee Valley Authority has completed a digital rendering of proposed signage and landscaping for the entrance to the park, located off Highway 43 between Lawrenceburg and Ethridge.  The plan calls for a vertical monument sign with internal lighting to be erected at the park’s primary entrance near Flatwoods Road, with a secondary sign to be placed at the northern entrance.

Both signs will bear the name “Team Lawrence Commerce Park” along with the distinctive checkmark logo used by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce as part of its Select Lawrence marketing campaign.

Students from the Lawrence County High School Masonry Program, under direction of instructor Steve Cheatwood, will perform the block work while inmate work crews will landscape the area around the sign. Quotes are currently being accepted for the signage from area vendors.

Work is underway to further ready the industrial park for occupants. Retention ponds have been constructed and water and sewer infrastructure installation is nearing completion. Discussions are also taking place with state agencies regarding construction of an industrial access road.

According to Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chad Chancellor, the timing of the park’s naming and development is fitting.  "I am so excited to see our vision for 'TEAM LAWRENCE COMMERCE PARK' begin to become a reality,” Chancellor said.  “What better time to develop a park which will mean future jobs for our citizens than today, a time of economic clouds and storms.  The park's name represents a true 'TEAM' which has worked to develop, will work to market, and will work to grow jobs for Lawrence County's citizens."
