Burglaries At Two Local Businesses Under Investigation
Local detectives initiated investigations into two separate burglaries at Lawrenceburg businesses this week, during which the front door glass was busted.
The first burglary was discovered by a Lawrenceburg Police officer on routine patrol at around 2:45 Sunday morning. The officer found that the front door glass had been broken out at Digital Communications, located at 520 North Locust Avenue. The officer reports that a gray rock weighing approximately five pounds was found lying inside the store. It had apparently been used to gain entry.
The owner responded to the scene and determined that twelve cell phones had been stolen from a display case. Total loss and damages were assessed at $6,496. Security video is being reviewed in the hopes of identifying a suspect in the case.
At 12:30 Tuesday morning, officers responded to Kay’s Country Store, located at 1905 West Gaines Street, after glass was broken out of the door, triggering an alarm.
Once the building was secured, an employee checked the store and determined that pending deposits had been stolen from the office. Cash stolen was said to be around $5,000. Damages were estimated to total $1,000.
