Tenant leaves behind damage at rental property

The owner of a Lawrenceburg property reported a considerable amount of damage after his tenant moved out recently. The owner spoke with Lawrenceburg Police officers on Wednesday.

He said that he had checked his property on First Street and found that the water had been left on in a sink, causing water to flood the floor and cause around $2,500 worth of damage.

The owner told officers that he had the utility services discontinued and that there was no waterwhen he checked it three days before.

He said that the tenant had apparently had the utility service restored. He speculated that the damage had been intentional.

The matter remains under investigation at the current time.
